Did you know that you are wonderfully designed? Uniquely created by the loving hands of God? It’s time to love what God loves about you!
For many years I straightened my naturally curly hair. I spent hours blowing it dry straight and curling it with the “right” kind of curl. Once I had children, I was too busy to take the time to style my hair and so I resorted to ponytails and clips
For years I just tolerated my hair but I finally came to accept it as God designed it to be ~ a little wild and curly. And then I got the comment…the infamous comment.
I was giving a short version of my testimony to an audience of women who were invited to give feedback. One comment was “her hair is overwhelming”. Overwhelming? Overwhelming! I thought I had accepted this crazy head of hair, learned to let go of the uncontrollable, but now I wondered if it would be a distraction from my speaking. I don’t blame this woman for making this observation ~ sometimes it is overwhelming and sometimes my hair enters a room before my body. But it caused me to wonder ~ should I cut it? Should I clip it? Should I go back to hours of styling?
Or should I embrace it as part of who I am, part of how God made me, part of what makes me….well, me! You probably know the answer….
God has created each one of us as a unique masterpiece. I am finally beginning to accept, and yes, sometimes even embrace, all the loving ways He created me. How about you? For me, I have embraced a passion to inspire, to share hope, and to entertain through the spoken and written word. After years of insecurity, I am finally stepping out in faith to be who God created me to be ~ a storyteller!
I love to share the inspiration and hope I have found in God’s truth, revealed in His own love story to us, the Bible. My desire is to help women come to know what a precious masterpiece they are and how much they are loved by the artist who not only created them, but has also written His name on their hearts. If you are in need of a speaker for your next event, it would be an honor to talk to you about how I might be of service ~ and the big hair is included at no extra charge!
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.
