I believe in one God, who created everything on earth and in heaven. He is eternal, all-powerful, all-love, just and merciful. He is a personal God; yet a complete understanding of Him with our limited human minds is impossible. He is knowable and at the same time, incomprehensible. He is one God in three persons ~ God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
I believe in Jesus Christ, who is the son of God but also one in being with God, part of the three-fold nature of God. I believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a perfect, sinless human life and is a perfect, Holy savior. Many foretold of His coming ~ of his birth, of his diety, of his role as the Messiah. He died, as was prophesied, on a cross for the sins of the world. I believe he was buried in a tomb for three days and was resurrected back to life to show his power over sin and death. Through His resurrection and atonement for the sins of the world, those who believe and trust in Him will have eternal life. He made himself visible and known to many people after his resurrection so that many would come to believe in his power to save souls. I believe Jesus will come back again to judge his creation.
I believe in God’s Holy Spirit, separate and at the same time, one with God, part of his three-fold nature. I believe that God’s Holy Spirit is eternal and, like Jesus and God the Father, was present and part of all creation. I believe that God’s Holy Spirit is at work in our world right now and is given to all who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer in Jesus and blesses them with power and guidance and understanding of God’s word so that the Christ follower can live life to the full and under the control of God’s spirit.
I believe that every human being has done things in their lives that require forgiveness ~ no one, with the exception of Jesus, has lived a perfect and holy life. This is what we call sin and sin entered our world with the first human beings, Adam and Eve. Sin has caused our world to be a broken place and sin is what separates us from our Holy Creator, God. I believe that Jesus died as a sacrifice for our sin, and through faith and trust in Jesus we can be reunited with our perfect and Holy creator. God gives us free will and the ability to choose to either put our trust and faith in the atonement Jesus provides or we can stand in front of Him on our own merit when He judges His creation. I don’t think anyone is good enough on their own to spend eternity with God ~ but I thank God that He has always had a plan for our salvation through Jesus the Christ, the Messiah, and we have the free will to choose to accept or to reject His gift of grace.
I believe that God has created each one of us in His image ~ that human life is sacred because of this truth. I believe that our physical bodies are temples for our souls. I believe that God loves us beyond our human ability to understand and desires to have a personal relationship with each one of us. I believe it is His desire that each one of us would choose to spend each day on Earth in relationship with Him and choose to accept Jesus as our Savior so that we can spend eternity with Him in heaven. This is the choice I made ~ to accept Jesus as my Savior ~ it is my prayer that if you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Savior that you will take the time now to consider His gift of salvation, His desire to have a relationship with you, and I hope that you will exercise your free will and put your faith and trust in Him.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18
